How do you lose a........

I have two items I am missing....How does one lose a 6 ft vacuum cleaner hose that is used every week? I went to vacuum with the hose attachment and wonder of wonders...it is not where it belongs(in the closest with the vacuum cleaner). When I tell you I have torn the house upside down looking for it, it is not much of an exaggeration.....my husband swears I threw it out.....threw it out????? an item I CLEAN with???? not in this lifetime, baby. He swears I just don't remember where I put it....ok, how hard is it to locate a 6 ft hose EVEN if, for some reason, I didn't put it away?...and the last I checked, I didn't have Alzheimer's......or any reason to believe it might be setting in. I can't even begin to tell you how frustrating this is....I even went so far as to ask the 24 y/o son if (and this would qualify as a miracle ) he had used it to clean his car out....the only way it could have come close to the trash can.....he said no....I believe him only because I have seen his car.....
The other item is my battery charger for my digital camera....It is always by the computer and I put the battery in to recharge once a week...sometimes more... sometimes less.....so, yesterday I went to recharge my battery for my camera so I can take some pictures (for my other blog....Inverness, Il (USA) Daily Photo)and IT is nowhere to be found.....again.....something I use a lot and no, I wouldn't "throw it out" (from the husband again!). I will admit to throwing things out that aren't important....some stuff he might have needed or wanted....but, in general, I don't throw that much away.....
I can't even begin to tell you how frustrating this is not being able to find the 2 items I not only use but need.....and , of course, now that I can't find the hose to the vacuum, I can only think of 100 uses for it.......
sigh......how annoying.

I feel your pain!! I have been looking for my little round pizza cutting board for a week. It is so handy for small chopping chores. I used it on Sunday, and would say I always put it in it's proper storing place, but that would not be the case, evidently, this time. I have finally decided that it has made it's way to the garbage which was picked up on Monday. Now I'm wracking my brain trying to figure how I could have done that without realizing it. I do have a cabinet full of cutting boards, but I loved that one.
Also, Neva, I have to tell you that the things that are similar to your calamaties have been happening to me lately. Something to do with having a dog, I imagine. Ginger was tethered to her line on the lower back deck when the guys were mowing my lawn when she decided to take a flying, barking run at one of them. I was standing there talking to them with my open heeled sandals on. She moved so fast that she caught my heel before I could blink. left me with a bloody rut. I'm hoping I will be able to wear shoes by the time I go out of town next week. Took my favorite boots to the shoe shop to get the heel repaired on one of them where (you know who) had a ball chewing it up. Good thing I took them both because he has to cut the heel down to get it fixed. I may have to learn to walk while rocking on my heels!! And I keep her, WHY?
Because she is cute about one hour of each day,I guess.

I applaud you for your steadfastness! In this house, those are so important, I would have had to go buy a new hose ( or a new Vacuum) and a new camera with a new charger, "This instant, I NEED to take pictures of my baby!!!"

So I am going to have to go and buy a new vacuum...sigh...and then maybe the other hose will show up....the battery charger showed up as soon as I bought another one.....
